Bivalve shell fragments of Pleuromya sp. are uncovered in the Middle Jurassic Tuxedni Group, a fossil-rich formation dating back to around 170 million years ago. The discovery takes place within the boundaries of Lake Clark National Park in Alaska's vast wilderness. Measurements reveal that these fossils can reach lengths of up to 4 centimeters, a testament to the ancient marine life that once thrived in this region.
