BITX40 Hand Microphone
thingiverse
I had an absolute blast building the BITX40 transceiver kit from hfsigs.com, but I wasn't thrilled about having the PTT button and microphone permanently attached. Added a speaker too, feels way more comfortable than using headphones. My build here connects to the BITX40 with a cat5e ethernet cable and a DB9 connector pair, works really well but the ethernet keeps wanting to curl up. You can tune the knobs at the start of the .scad file to match your components. I used: - the microphone from the BITX40 kit - an off-the-shelf 66mm diameter speaker (8 Ohms, 2W, labeled "MLS3") - a store-bought case-mountable push button (10mm) - cat5 ethernet cable connected to a DB9 connector - 4x M3x10 bolts to secure the cover - hot glue to keep the microphone and speaker in place
