**THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS** When was the last time you built a single-sideband rig? This one was my first, but it won't be my last. The bill of materials is uploaded as an Excel file, containing all the parts I used, along with their prices if I bought them. It also includes 3D printed part files and some good photos of how it was assembled. Unfortunately, I don't feel like taking it apart to document every step. However, I do have a few build tips: Read the HF Signals wire-up guide carefully, as it's essential for proper assembly. Also, keep your leads short to avoid any potential issues. The Bitx 40 SSB Radio with Digital VFO can be found at http://www.hfsigs.com/. The case is available on eBay at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plastic-Electronic-Enclosure-Project-PCB-Box-Case-Desk-Shell-Cover-200x175x70mm-/322017583916?hash=item4af9be632c:g:AGsAAOSwQYZWzXzJ. The VFO Knob is a 3D printable part, designed for a 1/8" set screw (see files). I updated it on February 19, 2017. The Volume Knob is simple to assemble and requires a 1/8" set screw to hold it in place. To ensure the screen fits flat in the case, I created a spacer with a hole. However, there's one issue: I had to cut out a small section to make it fit correctly. The Mic and PTT assembly is a two-piece unit built using parts from the Bitx 40 kit. The only thing not included was an old CB mic cable, which came from an old Raider 4020 CB. To modify the button on the mic, I used a 1/8" pin that's 0.5" long and a cut-down pin spring. I'll post more photos as soon as I have time (by March 5, 2017).
