Bit holder for toolshop 8v Lithium-ion drill

I got tired of digging in my pockets for all the torx or hex head, or square bit or philips or flat head bits when I was disassembling or assembling random hardware. I found Matt Beechan's bit holder at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:360803, and remixed it so that it would clip into the bit holder at the back of the drill, and loop over the front.

This is a work in progress, as it could stand to be a milimeter wider in front, and the whole thing tends to pop out and drop onto your hand if you hold the drill upside down and shake it.

That said, it should hold 24 bits, or in my case, 14 bits, and a nut driver, and a bunch of leftover spaces.

This is now updated to have a brace behind the bit that clips into the spring holder for the single combo bit. I found that pushing the bits in and out had an unfortunate tendency to break the bond at the crossbar.

To put this on the drill, put the front brace on the drill first, then put in the crossbar.

Put longer bits in the front, where they won't bump into the bottom of your hand.

This does not block the charging port.

STL file and freecad source file included. I tried mucking with this in tinkercad, but for some reason, it doesn't want to import the bitholder portion properly.

Print Settings

Printer:

Rigidbot/Reliabuild

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

35

Filament:
Solutech PLA
blue

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes
