Bissell water flow fix
thingiverse
I've been using my Bissell "Proheat 2X Healthy Home" carpet cleaner for over five years, and every time I use it, the water flow is a real challenge. It's not uncommon to find issues with dual tank Bissell machines when searching online - just type in "Bissell Proheat 2X Healthy Home low water flow" and you'll see what I mean. Some people have posted possible solutions, but they're few and far between. Watching YouTube videos on the topic only made things worse, as most of them offer little to no helpful advice. After replacing all the parts that could be causing the problem - new pump, solenoids, tank seals, and valves - I still wasn't getting enough water flow. So, I decided to take a closer look at how the solution tank works. When I opened it up, I noticed that the valve barely moved when the tank was in place. That's when I had an epiphany - I rummaged through my RC helicopter parts drawer and found two end plugs from a BEAM 450 helicopter landing skid that fit perfectly into the tank receivers. These little plugs raised the valve by 3mm (0.125 inches), and suddenly I had full water flow! To help others with this issue, I designed a simple part that can be printed in under five minutes using an STL file. This part fits over the standpipe in the middle of the receiver and keeps the flow valve open just enough for the machine to work properly.
