The ceramic doll head was unearthed at a site in Toronto by Archaeological Services Inc. (ASI) during an excavation conducted in 2007. The dig revealed the transformation of Adelaide Street from a semi-rural, upscale neighborhood consisting of single-family homes to an urban area characterized by boarding houses and commercial businesses by the early twentieth century. From the total of 69,894 artifacts uncovered, several items stood out as toys and games related, including six complete doll heads that were part of the collection. The artifact was scanned using an Artec Spider Scanner.
