The player who controls the bishop piece on the board is referred to as the bishop. This player's primary objective is to use their bishop to capture pieces of the opponent and protect their own. In order to achieve this, the bishop must be moved diagonally across the squares of the board. The bishop is a powerful piece in chess, capable of reaching all squares of the same color on which it starts. It can also participate in attacking and defending strategies with other pieces.
