These pieces were part of an altarpiece at Saint Augustine's convent in Zaragoza, Spain. Created in 1551 for Juan de Liceire, they were modeled after designs previously drawn by Damian Forment, a renowned artist. Forment had himself taught Liceire the art of sculpting alabaster, a popular material used in Aragonese Renaissance sculpture.
