Birth of Pegasus from A. Bourganov - Printable
thingiverse
I sliced the Birth of Pegasus model by Alexander Bourganov into three parts for easier printing. The base/pedestal was made a separate piece, while the main sculpture was split into two angled pieces to reduce overhangs. After printing in PLA, I sanded down warped bottoms and glued the parts together using super glue. Painting hid seams, but a full paint job may be necessary for color matching. Skeinforge caused some solid layers inside the print, which didn't affect appearance. Low infill was used to save time and material, but it made the front part of the sculpture less dense, causing balance issues. Increasing infill or adding weight would help stability. Overall, it's a favorite print, thanks to Artec, Bourganov, and the Moscow State Museum.
