Birmingham Post and Mail Building

myminifactory

The Birmingham Post and Mail building was a landmark constructed in the 1960s, symbolizing Birmingham's rebirth after World War II devastation. Demolished just one year later, this iconic structure was designed by John H.D. Madin and Partners in 1960 with D.V. Smith as partner in charge, Ronald E. Cordin and Ramon K. Wood serving as project architects. It was an early adopter of the podium and slab block form of architecture, inspired by Lever House in New York City, and became the oldest UK example after the Castrol Building's redevelopment in London. Once completed in 1964, it housed the Birmingham Post and Evening Mail newspapers.
