This is a two part camera mount for a BirdDog P100 PTZ camera. It's designed to allow a P100 to be hung upside down under a balcony/ceiling. The BirdDog P100 is attached to the underside of the Bottom Camera Plate. The Upper Rail is screwed to the overhanging surface and the Bottom Camera Plate slides into the dovetail rail before being secured by a screw in the front face.

By printing multiple Upper Rail Mounts, you can quickly move the camera between locations. Alternatively there is a tripod bush moulded into the Bottom Camera Plate so that you can turn the camera the right way up and then horziontally attach it to a tripod.DO NOT HANG IT FROM THE TRIPOD BUSH!

The following hardware is needed to complete the unit
a) A M4 square half nut to fit into the slot in the top of the Upper Rail Mount
b) A M4 hex head capscrew at least 10mm long to fit in the front of the Bottom Camera Plate and to go into the square half nut in the Upper Rail Mount. This holds both halves together.
c) M3 x 10mm screws to attach the camera to the Bottom Camera Plate. I used the following SEMS screws which includ a washer plus spring washer already mounted
Yahata Neji M3 x 12mm Steel Pan Head Sems Screw, Plain Washer P-3 3MC 3X12 (see https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/sems-screws/6934700/ ). Note that there is a maximum depth of 5mm for the fasteners that go into the bottom of the P100 camera
d) Optional - a 3/4inch to 1/2inch tripod thread adapter. This screws into the 3/4inch formed thread on the Bottom Camera Plate. I purchased mine from eBay but there are plenty around. Mine was 7.1mm long. Here is an example from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ledmomo-Convert-Adapter-Reducer-Bushing-Silver/dp/B076D2K65D/

I also used some low strength (Purple) thread locker on the screws holding the camera in place to reduce the change of them coming unscrewed over time.

Disclaimer
The design is offered without any guarantee as to its suitability.
