Bird Trail Mix Feeder Tray
thingiverse
This is a bird feeder tray that was designed to be printed on a large bed printer (300mm x 300mm). It may be possible to print this on a smaller printer (200mm x 200mm) but you would then have to print this on its side and it would require a lot of support material. It was originally designed to be put in a tree in the backyard, and it was there for a while, but the squirrels kept eating more than the birds and they were also removing it from the tray. To get around this issue, it was then moved to the window. Hanging it in the window made it much more difficult for the squirrels to get at. At first it was banging against the window a bit but some old used socks took care of that problem. This was designed for 1.65lb (748g) seed cakes. The opening where the seed cake is placed is 62mm x 117mm. There are small holes in the bottom for rain water to pass through and screw holes in the middle if you want to mount this in a tree or on a pole. After putting this by the window, we got reflective one way stickers to put on the window. This makes it easy for us to see the birds but they don't see us on the other side of the window.
