Bird Temple

For an updated and enhanced version on my own website, visit https://www.designuitinspiratie.nl/vogel-tempel-2/ This is a bird feeder designed for small birds. Larger birds simply cannot fit inside. You can place food for them in the green feeder dish located in the center. The feeder features a hole in the middle to allow water to drain out. Additionally, the feeder can be removed for easy cleaning. The individual pieces snap together like a puzzle and are secured with glue. Later, I applied insulating primer to eliminate the printer tool marks visible on the images. I selected the PLA colors without any specific reason other than having them available. The two distinct colors result from using two printers to save time. This project was printed at 0.2mm resolution with a 0.4mm nozzle. The temporary support pieces were printed with a single wall count and one top and bottom layer, with an infill of 10%. This was done to minimize material usage. The other components were printed with three layers for the walls, top, and bottom, featuring infills between 20-25%. The roof pieces were printed with support generated by Cura. The mount or ring at the top is secured with a M3x40mm bolt and nut. Initially, I designed this "mount" in three pieces but later changed it to two due to other modifications made. To ensure its strength, I used PET-G Carbon to print this piece. This material looks attractive, but it ruins a brass nozzle after several prints. A hardened steel nozzle is recommended, although it's more expensive (€30 where I reside). In the "total assembly.STL" file, you'll find the entire model assembled so you can verify where each part should be placed. If you have any questions or feel that something has been overlooked, please don't hesitate to ask.
