BIrd spike base
thingiverse
This is a printable base for creating bird spikes. To get started, print out as many as needed to cover the area requiring protection. Next, cut a 10-inch length of 14AWG wire for each base printed, and bend it so that it fits snugly into place. Snap the two parts together securely, then attach them firmly to the surface by either taping or gluing in place. Bird spikes are widely used to keep birds from taking up residence on ledges. In my situation, I'm struggling with sparrows and robins nesting behind my shutters, resulting in bird droppings all over my porch and aggressive birds when eggs are present. The openings for the wire measure 2mm, as does the cutout in the plate. This ensures a tight fit for 14AWG galvanized steel wire. The minimum width of the plate is 1cm, so you should be able to find some outdoor-rated tape that fits comfortably or use clear silicone adhesive.
