Bird Sillohette
thingiverse
My partner Keegan Veazey and I created 2D bird silhouettes resting on branches with leaves, leveraging the arc tool and smart dimension extensively. We thoroughly enjoyed making it, but also faced numerous challenges that required a significant amount of time to overcome. With my newfound understanding of 3D dimensions, an extension to this project could be converting it into a 3D model, which would be truly impressive. As seen in the actual 3D print, the bird doesn't look as sleek and polished as the SolidWorks images, due to several reasons. Firstly, the detailing on the small bird is too intricate, causing the 3D printer to struggle with filling it in. Secondly, the size of the smaller branch is also too minute for the printer to handle. However, when the design was printed at 200% of its original size, the missing details became visible and the overall appearance improved significantly. When 3D printing, be mindful of your details' scale and ensure that your design is practical and suitable for 3D printing.
