Bird's Nest Ornament
youmagine
Print "ornament bird" at 30% fill with supports--this takes over eight hours to complete. Create "electronics" design without any supports in place. Design "led support b" with no supports required. Craft "egg top tall" with a raft and zero percent fill when complete. When the egg reaches eighty percent completion, pause printing and carefully remove the egg from the printer to prevent it closing prematurely. Paint the nest exterior for a colorful finish. Attach the LED holder securely behind the bird's structure. Set the shell over the bird, ensuring it remains removable for easy access to the bird inside. The shell is designed to be easily detachable, allowing the bird to be revealed at any time. In the electronics container, connect positive wires from batteries directly to Vin on the photon module, while negative wires go to ground. Using wire wrap wire, link the anode of the LED to D7 on the photon module. Connect the LED cathode to ground as well. Install three batteries and slide the electronics container into the bottom of the nest's structure. Set up the Spark module with ease - load the Spark app on your smartphone, power it up near a wireless router, and ensure your phone operates on wifi mode. Open the Spark app, which will prompt for the wifi password to connect to the Spark module. The Spark app will quickly locate the Spark module (which will be flashing various colors to indicate readiness). Name the Spark module as desired. Next, using the Spark Tinker program, select "digital write" for pin D7 on your smartphone. When you toggle pin D7 on and off, the light inside the eggshell will turn on and off accordingly. My wife Annelle skillfully crafted the bird and nest using clay as a base material. I then scanned it with a MakerBot Digitizer to create a 3D printable design.
