Bird's Eye Camera Stand

A camera rig that doubles as a bird's eye view system is created by attaching an $80 Canon PowerShot ELPH115IS to a stand, which in turn is connected to a reflecting element - a standard silvered glass ornament like those found at Christmas for just $0.50. This setup allows the ELPH115IS to capture 360-degree views of a room, and with the help of CHDK, it can be programmed as a standalone device to do so. Even more impressive is that the camera can be set up to "unwrap" images into a more viewable format, such as cylindrical projection. The stand itself is made from PLA plastic, printed in black for the top and bottom, with natural clear used for the connecting piece - a clever design choice that minimizes visual distractions in 360-degree photos.
