Bird House

This is a Bird House I designed for the yard. It prints in two pieces, the Body, and a Face Plate. The face plate is secured to the body with (6) 2-56" button head screws. There are several face plates to choose from... The number indicates the Hole size and each size can be printed with or without the perch. I have been told using a perch allows predator birds easy access to the house were the small nesting bird don't really need a perch so keep that in mind when choosing which to print. I did reinforce the hole area also to keep squirrels and other predators from chewing on the entrance but again keep in mind this is a plastic bird house. I used acrylic paints to give the house an overall faux wood finish but spray painted painted the front a Ford Blue to add some color to it. The entire house was also sealed with 6-7 coats of spray on polyurethane it the hopes that it will protect if from the elements. I printed this in PLA but ABS or PETG would probably hold up to the elements better. Mine has been up since June of 2019 and has stood up pretty well with only the face plate warping ever so slightly.
