At the base of the reservoir is a distributor, which under the force of gravity distributes the feed as needed into the vacated feeding window. The structure is attached to the hinge at the top of the feeder, which is also the lid for the tank. The lid has a screw thread and is tightly screwed on, maintaining the integrity of the construction.
