Bird Feeder Squirrel Guard
thingiverse
After those pesky squirrels kept knocking over all the bird seed from my feeder, I came up with a clever solution to keep them off the pole. My feeder is suspended from a sturdy shepherd's hook made from a 1/2-inch diameter steel rod. I printed two center pieces and then attached them to the rod using a hose clamp. The center hub has an outer diameter of 1-1/4 inches, providing a solid base for the entire structure. Next, I slid the cone section onto the notch in the center pieces, brought the ends together to align the holes while bending it into a conical shape, and secured it with three small zip ties. The cone fits loosely on top of the center hub, allowing it to tip and spin freely. This clever design prevents those sneaky squirrels from getting a foothold and knocking over my bird seed again.
