I've been searching for gift ideas on Thingiverse. While browsing, I stumbled upon a bird feeder that didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of design. As a Toolmaker and Tool designer by trade, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own! About me: I've spent my entire life working with my hands, but at forty, I was diagnosed with ALS. The disease has been steadily taking away my abilities, including the use of my hands, so I turned to a 3D printer as a substitute. Regarding the model, it took four iterations before arriving at this design. Due to my limited dexterity and reliance on printers, I've deliberately avoided incorporating supports or assembly requirements. The model is designed to print within standard parameters, ensuring that most machines shouldn't encounter any issues. For printing, I recommend using Makerbot PLA; while I haven't tested other materials extensively, they may also be viable options. Thanks for taking a look!
