Bird cage caster wheel adapter
thingiverse
This is an adapter I made to install a better caster wheel on one of my bird cages because the ones that come with it are garbage and don't roll well on my hard floor. I made the pipe hole 16.8mmx16.8mm to fit the square end on my cage. I've included the Fusion360 file so you can adjust it to whatever you need it for. Doesn't even have to be a bird cage. Let your imagination go wild! The caster wheel I used for this is from Lowes and can be found on their website if you can't find it in the store. Or just change the hole pattern in the f3d file to your liking. That being said, then holes are made for M6 bolts. I used a M6, 1/2inch length screw and a M6 lock nut. https://www.lowes.com/pd/TITAN-3-in-Rubber-Swivel-Caster/1000596133 The little hole in the side if made for a M3 screw. The idea is to tap the cage leg with a drill bit after marking the hole location by test fitting it, drill the hole, then assemble it again with the screw to keep it from falling off. I made mine snug so I didn't really need it, but I put there anyways juuuust in case. Edit: forgot to add link to the caster wheel I used Edit 2: Added a re-enforced version to help keep it from snaping on the layer lines, adn updated the .f3d file to reflect it
