Bird Buddy Big Bird Blocker

I wanted a structure to slow down or block the large birds such as crows from eating most of the bird seed in my Bird Buddy. I found this “large bird deterrent” on Etsy but the shop is temporarily closed. My son created a parameterized similar structure in FreeCAD. You can edit the parameters in FreeCAD to change the size and shape of the bird blocker to suit your needs and the birds that monopolize your Bird Buddy. I included a .stl file of one example with a tapered arch that I feel looks a bit more elegant. A simple quick print with no supports needed. The mounting holes accommodate M5 screws which is what the Bird Buddy comes with, though you need longer screws depending upon how many accessories you stack and secure to the existing holes. Since it will be outside in sun and rain I would print with something other than PLA, though this uses so little filament you can print a new one whenever need. So far this has actually worked, the crows don't seem to be frequenting the Bird Buddy nearly as much and they don't stick around to sweep seed onto the ground and eat gobs of bird seed. They are clever and may figure out a way around it at some point though I may try other shapes and sizes as needed.
