Biqu H2 Extruder & BL Touch on Hermit Crab Mount
thingiverse
The cooling designs I have seen have the fan hanging way off the the side or front. My objective was to design a cooling tube that is effective but does not block full view of the nozzle, making first layer Z adjustments on the fly easy. The other mistake made by other H2 designers is to cover up access to the manual extruder thumb wheel. I use that wheel to prime new filament quickly. extrude a bit before each print, and to remove a filament when the day is over. I could not imagine working with the H2 without having access to the thumb wheel! I have it mounted to a BIQU Hermit Crab system but the design should work on any printer if you print a custom back plate that fits your mounting holes. The goal of a cooling fan is not maximum air flow, it is the RIGHT amount of air flow. Since the fan is variable from 0 to 100%, this design works great using the stock fan speed settings from Prusaslicer. * The joint between the rectangular fan duct and the hex manifold sucks. I don't have the time to clean it up inside the hex tube. It is functional as is. * New end stop switch plates are included to move the Z stop to the left vertical post and extend the Y end stop forward to recover the full bed area. I have increased my print speed to 200% of the basic Prusaslicer settings. For example, my perimeters are 120mm/sec and my infill is 160 mm/sec. I also tried the experimental Prusa Autospeed with good results.
