Biqu B1 H2 extruder holder
thingiverse
Hi creators, I prepared a holder for a Bigtreetech H2 extruder for a Biqu B1 printers. As from other H2 holders, here you have a better access to the filament roller and hotend screws without disassembling fan. Also is this a more symmetric, where weight of the extruding servo is balanced with the fan cover. This setup is using a PCB from original Bigu B1 head or you can buy one here: https://biqu.equipment/collections/expansion-board/products/bigtreetech-b1-hotmode-v1-0-led-adapter-board-with-type-c-interface-installation-in-the-nozzle-integrated-nozzle-wiring-for-b1-printer I'm using a V2 version of H2, which is much more better than previous versions - no extrusion problems etc. I printed a lot of hours without problems (yes, I'm not counting my wrong settings for printed parts :D ) Here are two options to create a H2 holder: 1. Aluminum holder (see schema) is made from 3mm thick aluminum plate and then can be painted (base paint - 2 layers + sanding and cover paint - 2 layers) 2. Printed holder is created from PETG material (235°C nozzle, 80°C bed) and is made from 3 parts For a better layering and strength, I added a printing orientation of the printed parts. For printing are used 3 types of material: * PLA - fan body, fan cover, BLTouch holder, PCB holder (01, 02) * PETG - fan blower, extruder holder (01, 02, 03) * transparent PET - light glower Necessary parts for assembling: * 12x - M3x8 screws * 2x - M3x10 screws * 2x - M3x16 screws * 2x - M3x16 screws (for printed holder - to join part 1 and part 3) * 5x - M3 nuts (for printed holder and original extrusion servo holder) - also screw glue is good to use * 2x - M3x10 pads (for printed holder - to join part 3 with extruder) * 4x - M3x6 [ISO 7380-2] screws (for aluminum holder - mount PCB) * 4x - M3x8 [ISO 7380-2] screws (for printed holder - mount PCB) * 1x - fan 4020 * 1x - M5x24 screw for a Z home * coffee How to print it: * PLA parts: - 205°C nozzle - 60°C bed - 0.16 layer height - 3 wall line count - 20% cubic infill - supports only for "pcb holder 02" * PETG parts: - 235°C nozzle - 80°C bed - 0.16 layer height - 3 wall line count - 20% cubic infill - supports only for "fan blower" and "holder 02" * transparent PET parts: - 235°C nozzle - 80°C bed - 0.16 layer height - 1 wall line count - 100% zig-zag infill - no supports How to assemble it: 1. to the printed fan body add 4020 fan without top cover and put a cable through the gap on the left side (don't cut a fan cable too short as I did) 2. use the M3x8 screws to mount a fan blower 3. use the M3x16 screws to mount it to the extruder (replace original fan screws with mounted fan cover) 4. add a fan cover with 4 M3x8 screws 5. coffee break 6. assemble a holder together with PCB (to mount a PCB on the holder use ISO 7380-2 screws) - it depends on you if you can use a printed one or you will make your own aluminum holder 7. cut and prepare all cables (2x fans, 1x temp sens, 1x heater) and connect it to the PCB. 8. mount holder to the H2 extruder 9. add BLTouch holder with mounted BLTouch 10. coffee break 11. add light glower if you want 12. mount it to the printer with M3x10 screws 13. connect all other wires - servo, PCB USB, BLTouch 14. replace original Z home screw with M5x24 (Z home must be higher now as was with original head) - you can add some pads, because original spring is short 15. unmount original extrusion servo and replace it by M3 nuts - you can use filament sensor and tube for a filament as before 16. setup a printer and slicer 17. coffee break Printer setup with H2 extruder: * retraction speed - 4 mm/s (slicer setting) * retraction distance - 0.5 mm (slicer setting) * Z steps per mm - 917 (printer settings) Enjoy your printing / coffee and have a lot of fun with better results! I hope, that this helps to somebody.
