Binocular Tripod Mount (with Knob)

<p>This mounting adapter was designed for mounting to a standard camera tripod. Note that this adapter requires that your binoculars have a central ¼"-20 threaded mounting hole (see photos). The angled adapter moves the balance point for large binoculars. The design requires some additional parts as shown in the photo :</p><ul><li>¼"-20 x 2" hex bolt</li><li>washer</li><li>¼"-20 brass threaded insert</li></ul><p>The length of the hex bolt in the knob should be long enough to screw strongly into the binoculars, but not so long that it bottoms out. &nbsp;The 2" length should work for most binoculars, but check to make sure so that you do not damage your binoculars.</p><p>The brass threaded insert is screwed into the bottom of the adapter; I recommend using epoxy cement in addition to just screwing it in. &nbsp;The ¼" hex bolt fits into the tightening knob - I suggest using some glue here as well, although it is not strictly necessary.</p><p>I strength tested an earlier version this design by inserting ¼" bolts held in a vise, and applying very strong bending force.
