Binocular mount for Samsung Galaxy 6
thingiverse
Mounts a pair of Bushnell binoculars right in front of the camera on a Samsung Galaxy 6, ensuring the lens peeks through one side perfectly. Photos show the step-by-step assembly process, including after the adjuster knobs are securely in place. The knobs themselves use 3mm screws of various lengths and 3mm set screws for two of them to hold everything tight. You can see an example photo taken using this mount, alongside my tripod mount for Samsung Galaxy 6 - it's a wood ducks shot. Getting the rear binocular lens aligned with the camera lens is crucial, along with keeping the distance between the binoculars and phone just right. The front adjuster knobs might even be overkill in some cases. Printer Settings: Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Prusi Mendal i2 Raft Option: No Support Option: Yes Resolution: .4mm Infill Percentage: 20% Notes: Print the main part on its side with supports, so perimeters wrap around thin parts that grip the phone. This will prevent them from snapping off at layer lines. Be aware this makes the print quite tall - about 85mm. Make sure you have clearance for something that size in your printer (mine was pretty tight). For other parts, use your best judgment regarding orientation and supports - it should be straightforward. Post-Printing: You'll need to sand down channels and rails where parts sit next to each other to make them slide smoothly. There's no benefit to having them snug or with resistance. You might even consider making them thinner before printing. I also used Super Lube in the photo (it's good stuff to have around for PLA projects anyway).
