Binding Post Grommet
thingiverse
This is a grommet that holds a pair of binding posts for banana plugs. I am using it as a terminal to connect my Z-Probe to for my MPCNC, but it can be used in any situation you need flush mounted terminals. It is designed to fit into 2 adjacent 5/8in holes. I have included a Drill Template to help with getting the perfect spacing. I printed mine with 100% infill but that is not required. Print with the face down. Instructions: - Mount the binding posts to the grommet - Print the Drill Template and use it with a 1/8in bit to make pilot holes. - Use a 5/8in forstner bit with the predrilled pilot holes to make perfectly spaces slots. It is always best to drill half way through your material then the drill the rest from the bottom side to prevent tear out. - Feed wiring through the new holes and connect to the binding posts. ([A ring connector makes this easy](https://www.amazon.com/Glarks-Disconnect-Electrical-Connectors-Assortment/dp/B01E3RTTHU/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=ring+connector&qid=1615519353&sr=8-4)) - The grommet should slide right into the holes with a good friction fit. - OPTIONAL: I used a small #8 pan head screw in the center of the grommet to hold it down. There should be enough material between the holes for the screw to bite.
