Binder Ring Clips
thingiverse
The main goal behind this project was to develop some notebooks for my students that would meet their needs perfectly. 1. O-ring: I started by incorporating simple O-rings into the design, which worked well in holding papers but allowed too much vertical play between the rings. 2. O-ring-curved-blade: Next, I tried designing a curved blade that would pass through the O-rings to close off the loop and vertically stabilize them. However, creating long sections with this curved blade proved challenging. 3. O-ring-straight-blade: Then, I attempted to create a straight blade that would run through the back interior of the O-ring. While it was functional, I wasn't satisfied with its appearance and worried about its strength. 4. D-ring: After discovering the D-ring design by edjwing, I decided to modify and enlarge it, including a slot on the flat side of the D-ring. So far, this design has been my top choice. I hope others can benefit from this experience and continue to improve upon this design.
