bin lock
thingiverse
We keep dog food stored in a bin within the kitchen, and one of our dogs has cleverly discovered how to pry open the bin using her nose, devouring everything inside. To prevent this from happening again, I needed to find a solution. After conducting a quick search, I came across the cabinet lock designed by mreimers, which I then modified slightly to make it shorter - approximately 40mm long and 6mm thick. This modification added an extra layer of difficulty in opening and closing it, making it challenging for our dog to figure out how to access the bin. To achieve this, I decided to print the lock using TPU with a 100% rectilinear infill, ensuring that it remained flexible while maintaining its structural integrity.
