I made three parts for my biltong box or quick dryer for meat. To assemble it, I need one 100mm fan, some mosquito netting, eight millimeter rods, a large plastic box, and screws and cable. The eight millimeter plug is designed to fit into the holes of the rods if you decide to remove some of them to accommodate larger pieces of meat. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: RepRapPro Mono Mendel Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Notes: You shouldn't need support for any of the parts. Post-Printing Outlets After printing one or two outlets, cut fine mesh like that used in windows to keep mosquitoes out and fit it on the back of the outlets using hot glue. Make fifty millimeter holes in the box where you want the outlets and secure them with four screws through the box. Inlet Fan Make a 100mm hole for the fan and attach it to the side of the box. This printed part directs airflow to the lower part of the box, promoting even drying of the meat. Final Steps Add rods or hooks to hang the meat from in the lid or upper part of the box. Some people add a lightbulb to help remove moisture, but for me, it works just with the fan. I'm currently using my biltong box to make Italian bresaola. Hang the meat, put on the lid, and wait! Jerky takes around one and a half days (36-48 hours), depending on thickness. For larger parts like 300g, use a timer to turn the fan on and off in sixty-minute intervals to prevent over-drying of the outside of the meat.
