Compatibility:

I designed this for my knobby enduro MTB tyres. Tested with:

2.30" Specialized Butcher - holds securely

2.35" Schwalbe Magic Mary - holds securely (knobs aren't touching, slight play)

2.50" WT Maxxis Assegai - holds very securely, probably upper limit

Originally designed for 2.3" Specialized Butcher tyres.

Lower limit is about 2.25", but it is heavily dependent on the tyre shape.

May work with 2.6" on less knobby tyres, not tested.

I also tested it with my 25kg eMTB, but it was definitely on the very upper limit, it held the wheel in place, but very little force was needed to pull it from it, so maybe don't use it for eMTBs or use stiffer material :)

How to mount:

Mount on a wall at a height where the front wheel touches the wall when the rear wheel is on the ground, also touching the wall.

Before mounting, make sure the parts slide into each other, if they don't, you may need to modify your slicer settings.

If they fit, install the base on the wall and slide the pluck onto it, it will likely be a tight squeeze (it's supposed to be), hammer may be needed to later remove it.

How to use:

Bring the bike standing on the rear wheel to the wall.

The rear wheel should be touching the wall.

Push the front wheel into the pluck by pushing on a handlebars.

To remove, just firmly pull on the bars towards you.

I recommend using a "safety" rubber band (attaches on the hooks on both sides), it will keep the wheel in place should the tyre deflate for whatever reason. Under normal circumstances, it has no effect on the grip strength of the pluck, meaning use of such band is fully optional.

How to print:

Use PETG, the geometry was designed for the amount of flex PETG gives.

Use enough perimeters to entirely fill the base (part that goes on the wall).

Use enough perimeters to make "arms" (thin part) of the pluck solid.

Parts are designed to be printed vertically (standing).

Supports are only needed for the hooks on the side of the pluck.

This is one of my older designs I originally published to Thingiverse on June 20, 2021.
