Bike wheel dish stick

Bike wheel dish stick

thingiverse

A simple bike wheel alignment tool, costing under $10. This device is used to measure the dish (centering) of your bike wheel in relation to its hub. Testing has only been done on 700c wheels so far. To build this tool, you will need two pieces of 1/2" square tubing, each cut to a length of 11.5 inches. Most hardware stores sell these tubes in 3-foot lengths for around $5. In addition to the tubing, you'll also require a 5/16 inch bolt and nut. If desired, you can use a gear from an involute gear generator (such as the double-helix-hex.stl file found on thingiverse.com) as a knob for this tool. Please note that improperly adjusting your bike wheel can cause damage. I am not responsible for any actions taken while using this device.
