Using a bottle cap as your stem cap is definitely unconventional! It's likely best to use an aluminum top cap when initially mounting the stem, but once that's securely bolted up, you can swap it out for this creative solution. To do so, simply use the standard bolt and then clip the bottle cap into place afterwards - be aware that it will fit quite tightly, and there's a risk of breaking if you try to remove it again. When printing with ABS, I've found success, but I imagine other materials could also work well in this application.
