Bike Steering Head Bearing Rain Cover

Bike Steering Head Bearing Rain Cover

Amazingly, my Kona bike has completely unsealed top steering head bearing. Rain just runs straight into it because the part line is on the top surface. The useless plastic dust cap only adds insult to injury - it doesn't keep rain out at all. What were they thinking at Kona? This design is truly baffling. I've created a custom rain cover that sits under the spacer rings, which hold it in place. I remade it in Nylon because the original ABS part started to crack after just two years of use. To ensure a perfect fit, it's essential to make a 90-degree segment first and check it against the curves before creating a whole ring. This simple step can save you from a lot of headaches down the line. This design is parametric, so feel free to modify it to suit your bike's unique specifications. Just note that the Thingiverse customizer may only show the full part, possibly due to an outdated Openscad version that doesn't support angle parameters for rotation.
