Bike stand replacement main tube joint
thingiverse
I designed this replacement part to address a major issue I encountered with the original one - over-tightening the pinch lever caused damage to both the threads on the bolt and barrel nut. When attempting to loosen it, the plastic holding the hex head bolt was also rounded, resulting in a complete failure. The following components are required for assembly: - An M6 * 45 hex head bolt, which is used in conjunction with the lever - A barrel head bolt (M6 * 30) and its accompanying M6 nut If the barrel nut has been damaged, an additional M6 barrel nut will be needed. This design should be compatible with bike stands that use tubes measuring: - Inner tube diameter: approximately 35mm - Outer tube diameter: approximately 38mm My specific bike stand is produced by Brand-X, which I believe is simply a rebranded OEM product. I fabricated this replacement part using PLA and it has proven to be an effective upgrade - it can easily support my entire weight with minimal torque applied to the lever. In contrast, the original part consistently struggled to hold my 15kg bike in place, even when the lever was tightened as much as possible.
