Bike rear light/GoPro clamp with hidden fastners
prusaprinters

I bought a bike rear light combined with a camera online, as drivers around me need keeping an eye on. But the supplied clamp was too wide, and chafed my thighs.

So I created another one which is much narrower and neater than the manufacturer's offering, plus I can print one for each of my bikes! I used PrusaSlicer's ‘pause’ function to drop in M4 nuts at the right point in the print, so the nuts are totally covered and will not fall out by accident.

I was most proud of my use of support enforcers and blockers plus the pause in PrusaSlicer, to allow me to drop in a bolt into the hand screwholder print, so it uses a metal bolt but with a 3D printed grip so the bolt cannot get lost on dark nights.

You will need:

2x M4 x 25mm cap head bolts

2x M4 nyloc nuts

1x M5 nyloc nut

1x M5 x 25mm hex head bolt

1x Camera/light plus SD card

This clamp fits 27mm diameter seat posts, but I've attached the SolidWorks files in case you wish to modify further.

I feel much safer riding, knowing that drivers now face consequences.
