I purchased an excellent floor-to-ceiling bike rack from CyclingDeal.com.au to store a couple of road bikes. The problem was that the default hooks were designed for aluminium frames with a circular profile, rather than the larger profile of modern carbon fibre frames. I have tested the hook with over 20 kilograms of load for several days, and there are no signs of stress damage or deformation. Two of these are currently supporting my under 10-kilogram bike without any problems. The side notch holds two M6 nuts in place, which provide a firm grip on the factory bolt.
