Bike pump mount for FastTrack
prusaprinters

Hang your Joe Blow Sport bike pump from this custom hook on a Rubbermaid FastTrack rail. I designed this for myself, because it was the first quality bike pump I purchased and wanted to keep it safely away from little hands and reduce floor clutter. I like the Rubbermaid options, but I didn't want to hang the pump by the handles using their generic hook, which would put the weight of the pump on the hose. I mean, it probably wouldn't hurt it, but hey, making custom stuff is why I bought a 3d printer. Right? Hope others find this useful. If you find that it works with other pumps, drop me a line and I'll compile a list.

Note: This model uses a base clip that was design by gchad and published on Thingiverse (thing 3501995). The relevant clip stl file has been included here for your printing convenience.

Assembly requires 2 printed parts (1) the clip, (2) the bike pump hook. You will also need a 2" long 1/4" bolt and a nut (preferable a lock or non-slip type).

This is my first published design (and my 3rd complete redesign of a bike pump hook), so feedback welcome. The first design was my first attempt at CAD, period. It was quite bulky and possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen. The second attempt was sleek but didn't hold up more than a few months (due to a small flex points and a bad print orientation). This, the 3rd design, I switched from TinkerCad to Fusion 360, and started over from scratch. I greatly extended the flexible area, improved the printing orientation and I'm quite pleased with the result. It should be quite durable and hold up over time.

Fusion 360 model available here: https://a360.co/2LRDGqL

Source/inspiration: Rubbermaid Fast Track Hanging Hooks V1.3 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3501995)

Print instructions

Pictures:

The gray clip (10lb) is used to attach to the FastTrack rail. I printed this with the PLA that shipped with my Prusa printer (the only filament I had at the time), but today I'd choose PETG. The black bike pump is my creation (this post). I printed it in PETG because it's more flexible and holds up better under strain, and where I have it my garage it sometimes gets warm in the sun.

Adding a few extra perimeters for strength is a good idea for these parts. No supports needed.

Print the clip on it's side.

The hook prints flat for the best strength.
