Bike Hook

Bike Hook

thingiverse

I created this bike hook to find a space-saving solution for storing all my family's bicycles in one convenient place. Since I didn't want to drill multiple holes into my walls or ceiling, I transformed an old clothes hanger into a sturdy bike rack using my design for the "double hook." This design is remarkably robust and has held up well under heavy loads. For four months now, it has supported 15 kg bikes without showing any signs of wear. If you encounter any issues with heavier bikes, please let me know so I can gauge its limits. The size of this bike rack is generously designed to easily accommodate 29" x 2.3 MTB wheels and possibly larger sizes as well. To make printing easier and less time-consuming, I divided the design into two separate pieces. This way, it can be printed on a standard 200 x 200 mm build plate without worrying about wasting filament or facing lengthy print times if something goes wrong during the process. Additionally, if the lower part of the bike rack wears out over time, you can simply reprint just that section while keeping the upper part intact. This design also allows for customization options, enabling you to adapt either the upper or lower part according to your specific needs. The two pieces are connected securely using 3 M8x20 screws and nuts.
