Another solution - for now I think this is the best one. But this time - from the concept design to to the real prototype... This is a compilation of solution (v1) and (v2): Bike handlebar special collet v1 Bike handlebar special collet V2 Advantages of this solution: 1) in this solution we need to manufacture only 4 (small) different type of parts for one bike. It’s not much and they are easy to manufacture as we can use not only CNC machines; (you can see on my video parts whish was made using manual lathe and "Dremel" for tooth making); 2) using my concept we can clamp both sides of the tape just using the same parts and there is place to put logo on the outside clamp; 3) Flyingmachines is making high-end bicycles - it's beyond question... - high quality, - hand-made and assembled parts, - customization, - paint? it's insane :) - weight? 8-9kg In my solution we have parts which are very light - check uploaded pictures to check exact weight; One side parts weight: 2x (11,5+4,1+3) + 1x 3,4 = 44g ...so it's 90g for one bike... !!! 4) As you can see this solution allows for customization - look at uploaded picture; for example you can have different type of nuts, you can put different colors on it or do some extra patterns... you are free to do what you want... 5) As you can see on my video this solution is working :) All parts were made on manual lathe and then tooths were cutted using "dremel" - I know that three tooths are broke - I borke them ;) by myself :] ...I was hurry and... I have no words... As you can see tooth are elastic, tooths are able to hold tape, they are moving to the inside of the ring etc... Of course it's a prototype and whole tooth shape depends on the tape material and height of it. We can change the shape of tooths, number of them or even change material of whole toth clamp - aluminium, brass etc ... ... ... Disadvantage of this solution? Competition gonna hate Flying Machines ;) STEP files on the way... Later I will provide few concept of tooth shape for better locking...
