Bike handlebar mount for Garmin eTrex C/Cx/HCx
thingiverse
To avoid constantly screwing and unscrewing the original Garmin bike mount, a user designed his own handlebar mount using his RepRap printer. The custom mount fits the exact bar diameter and can be printed in multiples as needed. Like the original, this mount has a hinge for easy attachment to handlebars without bending parts. It requires two bolts: an M3x25mm for the hinge axis and an M4x25mm to secure the bar mount. The user's STL files cover common handlebar diameters of 22mm, 25mm, and 28mm. They also provided a parametrized SCAD file for adaptation to specific handlebar sizes, and separate modules for eTrex-specific parts that can be used with other clip-on systems. The user extended their project to support newer eTrex 10/20/30 series devices and improved bridging support in the STL files for the Legend/Vista C/Cx/HCx. They also shared a printable version of the missing clip-mount adapter. Recently, they uploaded a tiltable version that allows compensation for skewed handlebar tubes by tilting the slide rail up to 45 degrees. However, after two years of heavy use, they noticed that the rail locks broke on their eTrex bar mount, so they shared stronger versions of the STL files and SCAD file for improved durability.
