Bike Coaster Brake
thingiverse
This is a bicycle coaster brake that I salvaged from a used bike I purchased. The previous owner had replaced the foot brake with a hand brake, which I find inconvenient since it allows the pedals to free wheel backwards when stopped. If this design fits my needs, I'll cut one out of 1/8 inch steel. Designing This I started by tracing the original part using a pencil and paper, drawing the arm section that was cut off. Next, I created a black and white layer in GIMP where black represents the part and white signifies empty space. Then, I converted the image into an SVG file in Inkscape. After that, I turned the SVG into an STL file using svg2stl.com. Finally, I scaled the part using netfabb to ensure it would fit perfectly.
