A Z-axis equipped with dual ballscrews supports the heated glass build plate, which is driven by a powerful Nema 21 stepper motor. The X and Y axes are powered by linear rail mechanisms running on two 60mm Nema 17 motors, utilizing the CoreXY mechanism in conjunction with a direct drive E3D extruder. The XY belt features stainless reinforced polyurethane to minimize stretching. Building BigXY requires significant machining and welding efforts, but its impressive performance justifies an investment of around $700, including electronics.
