BIGTREETECH Pi V1.2 ENCLOSURE I've been testing different designs and this is the most effective in terms of heat dissipation: - BASE_BBT_PI_V1.2.stl - FAN_SUPPORT_BBT_PI_V1.2.stl The red heatsink BTT's Pi is provided with, is good and generous. This said, I still recommend active cooling if you plan to place this Pi inside your printer (or in any other closed spaces whatever your Pi is supposed to do). --- Tests done so far with only passive cooling (OS: Armbian 23.5 Bookworm): - Octoprint on Armbian (RAM load around 240 MB) - Armbian + LXDE core (RAM load < 400 MB). It does simple jobs nicely, but climbs up to 60C (in summer). --- Temperature readings running a 4010 (OS: Armbian 23.5 Bookworm+LXDE core): - 45/46C under load (copying files while reproducing multimedia content trough LAN) - Running Octoprint on Armbian this BTT PI remains at 39/40C - BTT's Klipper remains around 40C --- Things you need: 5 mm long pieces of PTFE tube to make spacers. M2 or M2,5 screws and nuts to fix the board to the base. To fix the fan support I used small 12 mm wood screws M3 x 12 or 14 mm. Washers and nuts or locking nuts to fix the fan Get a 5V 4010 fan to be plugged to the board. To fix the enclosure to your printer you can use 2 flat round head wood screws. This probably requires drilling 2 little holes into your printer's enclosure (see last picture). I don't recommend the use of double sided adhesive tape for this purpose. --- UPDATE as per 2023.08.18. 3 new base-STLs were added. b1 and b2 look a bit bulky but will facilitate attachment to frames made of aluminium profiles 2020 / 2040. In addition to the small stuff mentioned above BASE_BBT_PI_V1.2_b1.stl and BASE_BBT_PI_V1.2_b2.stl will require: 2 x T-Nuts (4 mm bore) 2 x M4-10 mm and 2 washers - - - A really nice little board! Enjoy! O. - - - - BIGTREETECH Pi V1.2 BTT Pi V1.2
