Bigger grip for tablet holder
thingiverse
I have this particular gooseneck tablet holder: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B01AUQ33LG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It works well with my ipad 6 without the smartcover - but with the smartcover still attached, I find that the vise grip does not quite hold the ipad tight enough and there is always a fear that the tablet will just fall out. My solution is to just have a bigger grip so I did a quick and simple mod. Essentially I printed a bigger top and bottom piece, each with the protruding bit(s) that can be inserted into the existing holes of the grip and then use the fastener (essentially just a ring) to secure the pieces. To stop the tablet from falling out, I printed a "stopper" that I glued to the top and bottom pieces. For example, the "top tablet stopper.stl" piece is glued to the "top part.stl". Similarly for the bottom piece. It is a bit hard to explain so i hope the pictures with the annotations help. Note: The fastener rings - I just print them to 101% so that they can be inserted into the protruding bits.
