BigCooter LM12UU - 12 X 30, 65, & 100mm Linear Bearing Mount

Generic LM12UU 12mm Linear Bearing Mounts: a game-changing way to design creations using readily available parts that can be combined in countless ways as needed. A smarter approach than creating complex components that only serve one purpose, this generic component strategy also enhances the potential for precise 3D printing design by arranging parts in a build orientation that eliminates stress between layers during use (a weakness common to FDM printed materials). These bearing mounts are designed to stand upright on end, ensuring the FDM filament wraps tightly around the bearings as clamp screws are tightened - this design helps prevent part cracks. This assembly features several practical applications for X and Z carriage assemblies in the forthcoming BigCooter 8X printer (featuring an expansive build volume of 450x450x450mm!). Instructions To produce these linear bearing mounts, use your FDM 3D printer standing them upright to avoid placing tension between print layers as the bearings are tightened. I firmly believe that designing with multiple parts is essential in creating functional pieces with minimal need for support material and eliminating stress caused by layering (a common issue in FDM printing). Bearning mounts feature printed holes slightly undersized, designed to allow for precise drilling or tapping of M3 threads directly into the plastic without relying on metal nuts - I deliberately avoided using nut pockets.
