BigBox Dual X-Carriage
thingiverse
Note: This is an incomplete and untested design - I am yet to finish designing the left motor/idler part and a suitable print fan. Please post comments / suggestions. This is a work-in-progress of a dual x-carriage system for the BigBox 3D printer. I will add some photos of the assembled parts shortly. Once I have finalized an initial version, I will add the source files. You will need some additional hardware: GT2 belts 1x 20-tooth pulley 2x F-604-ZZ bearings 1x Stepper driver 1x Stepper motor (I am using these for X0/1 and E0/1 - http://www.omc-stepperonline.com/nema-17-bipolar-step-motor-29v-07a-18ncm255ozin-17hs100704s-p-260.html) Various screws, nuts, and washers. Revision 27/09/2016 @ 21:44 Added cable supports to the top clamp plates for the motor, thermistor, heater cartridge, and hot end fan cables. Revision 28/09/2016 @ 20:47 Added left motor/idler part. I haven't test-printed this; I suspect that there may be an issue with the idler printing properly. Added y-min endstop mount point to right mount/idler part. Revision 28/09/2016 @ 22:04 Modified left motor/idler to print better. Rotated parts to print best. Added space for motor wire connector on smaller steppers Print Settings Printer: BigBox Dual Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 10 Notes: The parts are designed to be printed without support; fans must be enabled if printing PLA. I have printed samples in 0.25mm and 0.3mm, and both came out well.
