Big Laptop stand

Big Laptop stand

A larger laptop stand designed specifically for big laptops, like mine, which measures 380 cm wide and 25 cm deep. To match these dimensions, I created a custom stand that is 18 cm high at the back. The stand was crafted from 3 mm cardboard. The laptop in the photo is a Toshiba SATELLITE L50-A-160, available online. Its measurements are B x D x H: 377.5 x 244.0 x 25.95 mm. I designed this stand by creating a simple shape and modeling a body in Autodesk Fusion 360 based on the Cardboard Laptop Stand V2 by idev247. You can access the model here: http://a360.co/29CIApw. Yes, it's parametric, and Fusion 360 is free for students, enthusiasts, hobbyists, and startups. Here are some key features of Fusion 360: "Free for students, enthusiasts, hobbyists, and startups. Full use of Fusion 360 for as long as you need it." Get it here: http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/try-buy. Next, I generated the slices using Fusion 360 and then sliced the model in 123D Make from Autodesk. Unfortunately, I couldn't save it to my projects, but I've attached the archive file so you can play with it. 123D Make is also free; get it here: http://www.123dapp.com/make. Please note that you can choose the thickness of your material and automatically get adapted gaps and fits in 123D Make. To cut the stand, I used 3 mm cardboard since it's cheap. You can use plywood if you have it, but make sure to adjust the thickness in the 123D Make file. As for future improvements, I would have liked a hole in the front wall so that I could use the space for my mouse.
