Big Iguana
thingiverse
Thanks to MustangDave and the original creator of this 3D photo scan, Fredrik Simons, for making it happen. The model was cut into manageable parts using NetFabb's advanced software tools, leveled perfectly with the help of 3D Builder, and then sliced with precision by MakerWare. After printing in high-quality PLA on a Replicator 2, using a combination of 5% fill, three shells, and no support, the three-part model stood proudly at about 14 inches tall. To add a touch of realism, acrylic paints were carefully applied to bring out the finer details. 2017-1-1 Update: With a few tweaks, a pre-hollowed version with walls as thin as 1mm can be printed effortlessly on M3D, Tiko, MP Select Mini, and other compact printers. The result is a faster print time, all without needing any support structures.
